The Grisslies came in existence in the year 2000, the founding Captains were Rob Farah and Jim MacDonald.
The story:
The Grisslies were originally the Yannigans with Jim Macdonald as Captain. In 1999 Rob was his co-captain.
After that season Jim wanted to resign as a captain. Rob persuaded him to be his co-captain and the Grisslies were born. The team name is based on Rob’s nickname, "GRIS". Refers to the Griswald awards for Christmas lights that he won in the late 1990’s.
Other co captains of the grisslies were John Stiff and Doris Cosullo and for the last three years, Doug Dwyer.
Claims to fame:
2005 season: The Grisslies won both the season and playoff championships
2011 season: The Grissleis won both the playoff championship and the Nellie Award
2012 season: The Grisslies won the Nellie Award
